Kevin Costello, the founder of AMAC, was first introduced to the martial arts at the young age of eight. Over the next few years Kevin explored a number of schools within his neighborhood. In 1987, at the age of 16, the serious studies of Kempo and Karate began. Eventually earning his 3rd degree in both Kempo and Karate in 2007.

In 1996 Kevin began his study of Judo and Ju-Jitsu. Always being one to challenge himself, he quickly learned that competing in Shiai (Judo tournaments) was something he wanted to pursue. He competed and placed at the Local Level, State Senior as well as National Masters and International Masters Level. Earning his Judo Black Belt in 2003, attaining 2nd Degree in 2011 and promoted to 3rd Degree Black Belt in February of 2017. Always training his Ju-Jitsu along side his Judo, his Ju-Jitsu Black Belt was earned in 2009.
